Five Unique Beautiful Places In Kodaikanal

1) Boating in kodai lake is a popular activity among tourists and especially for honeymooners. Experienced rowers can rent a boat and row on their own or hire a row man. If you need a family activity then, a pedal boat is available for a family to have fun as 2 can pedal and another person can steer. On weekdays and non season months the lake is usually not crowded. During the flower show time in summer, there will also be rowing & duck catching races for the tourists.

2)One beautiful sight to look for in kodai is the early morning misty mountains. Every morning presents a beautiful sight with the mist surrounding the peaks. The peaks on the palani hill view side are especially beautiful in the mornings.

3)Early morning joggers and walkers around the lake can see this beautiful lake smoking sight. The dew that settled on the water gets evaporated on the first rays of the sun and gives a feel like the lake is smoking. With the rays of the sun hitting the water through the trees, the view at certain points is truly breath taking.

4)When climbing up or down the kodai hills, for the first/last 5 -6 km's the ground level can be seen and the manjalar dam water with the mountains in the back ground could present a breathtaking view. If the sky is cloudy and the sun is behind the cloud, get ready for a visual treat.

5)The Perumal malai peak is a prominent land mark in the skyline of kodaikanal. With a very unique shape looking like a cup cake, many would have wondered where it is located and if it is accessible. It could be trekked with proper permissions from the forest department and has a gradual gradient on the back side.

SEE THE BEAUTY OF KODAIKANAL FROM COAKER'S WALK

Coaker’s Walk is a romantic pathway built and created by Leigh tenant Coaker. He built it in 1872 when India was under colonial rule. The pathway was built in such a way that the valleys can be visible while viewers walk along the pathway.

On a bright sunny day one can view the Dolphin’s nose in the South and the valley of the Pambar River in the South-east. Even part of the city of Madurai is visible from Coaker’s Walk. Whenever clouds and mist surround the place, it gives a panoramic view and for poets, authors, romantic persons, it creates creative thoughts.

Coaker’s Walk has a number of romantic tourist destinations in its vicinity including the Bryant Park. There is an old Eucalyptus tree and a Bodhi tree which give special importance to the Park. Besides the park , hotels , homestay in kodaikanal there are lakes in the vicinity where kodaikanal tourism prefer to do boating.
